Moja kati ya ndoto na fikra ya wachezaji wengi wa kiafrika wanaokwenda kucheza soka Ulaya ni pamoja siku moja kutimiza ndoto zao za kutwaa medali ya UEFA Champions League wakiwa na club zao, kwa ngazi ya club Ulaya hiyo ndio michuano mikubwa zaidi kwa ngazi ya vilabu hivyo wachezaji wengi wakitwaa taji hilo huwa ni historia kwao.
June 1 2019 itachezwa fainali ya UEFA Champions League kwa kuzikutanisha timu za Liverpool na Tottenham Hotspurs katika jiji la Madrid Hispania, huku wakiwa wanakutana wachezaji wawili wenye asili ya Kenya, Tottenham wanaye Victor Wanyama wakati Liverpool wanae Divocl Origi raia wa Ubelgiji mwenye asili ya Kenya.
Safari hii itakuwa ni vita kati ya Afrika Magharibi, Kaskazini na Mashariki ni taifa gani linaongoza idadi ya medali za UEFA Champions League kwani, Naby Keita wa Liverpool anatokeo Guinea yaani Afrika Magharibi ukanda ambao wamewahi kutwaa Champions League mara 13, Sadio Mane nae anatoka Senegal ambako ni Magharibi.
Afrika Mashariki hadi sasa ni mchezaji mmoja pekee Mc Donald Mariga ndio aliyewahi kutwaa UEFA Champions League msimu wa 2009/2010 dhidi ya FC Bayern ambaye anatokeo Kenya, safari hii fainali itachezwa tena ila mdogo wake Victor Wanyama atakuwa anaichezea Tottenham dhidi ya Liverpool na kama akishinda UEFA Champions League atakuwa mchezaji wa pili Afrika Mashariki kutwaa Champions League baada ya kaka yake Mariga.
Ni wachezaji 17 wa Afrika waliowahi kushinda Champions League wakati Samuel Eto’o kutokea Cameroon ndio ameshinda mara tatu nyingi zaidi kuliko wachezaji wote wa Afrika, wachezaji waliowahi kushinda kwa pamoja wa Afrika ni Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel na Salomon Kalou msimu wa 2011/2012.
